I continue to be appalled (and this is not directed just at SteveMartin) at the unwillingness of some players on this site to allow possible improvements in the game, especially when it does not appear that they will be forced to play by the modified rules.
I'm right there with you on your feelings towards some of the players on this site. I too am appalled at the unwillingness of some players on this site to allow possible improvements in the game.
It just goes to show the extent on how some gamers lack sufficient educating and/or knowledge on this subject.
What should have been a cut and dry subject has been turned into a fiasco as a result.
For those that were against the idea, I propose that they only be allowed to fly planes that only have 37 fuel points. Seriously. Because I suspect the ones opposed to the idea are the ones that take the planes with the most fuel points.
For the record, of all the gaming clubs I have gamed Blue Max with, and all the Blue Max games I have played in at conventions hosted by different individuals from all over, only here on "youplay.it" do I see players in favor of keeping any sort of fuel point system. Everywhere else I have seen and/or played either has abandoned the fuel point system all together or has just given every plane 45 fuel points.
In past Blue Max events, even the designer (Phil Hal) has abandon the fuel point system. I'll even have to find the quote he made in regards to removing the fuel point system from the game.
