I think you should keep the game as close to the origional as possible. I also agree that it would tend to distort the scenario stats which can be useful when you are evealuating various scenarios to play.
Areas which are not part of the board game but are part of the online version can be improved whenever you wish. Such as, I would constantly reduce the automove time on consecutive automoves in a game. If player X is automoved for the first time based on the game setting and does not return to the game I would then automove him the second time after 1 day, the thired time after 12 hours , and subsequent moves every 6 hours. This might enhance the speed of some games and the clock would reset if player X returns and makes real moves.
Well, this fuel rule could be implemented without statting the games in which it is followed. I don't know whether it is feasible or not, however.
I actually like the idea to give planes the same amount of "fuel" as this could be seen as altitude, albeit this is a slightly stretched interpretation (as in, see what you would like to see ). Planes with poor aerodynamics or trying to go very fast are bound to lose "fuel" much faster than those who try to manage it, beginning from a same level.
I'd like to point out that I agree with pokerguy on the issue of consecutive automoves, and I haven't got much to add to his contribution.
About a previous post in this thread: I completely agree with darken about the need of a ELO rating system, or anything that brings some sort of normalisation to current stats. |
