The lacking BlueMAx rules (lewis guns and few other) are not present due to programmation limit, not by free decision of the webmasters. ...
I would note that, contrary to the spirit of what was just stated, there are quite a few changes to the original Blue Max rules in use on this web site; not just deletions such as the Lewis Gun rules, but modifications and additions, too. While I would leave it to the webmasters to state exactly what limitations, if any, exist with regard to their ability to modify the rules, I must doubt that this is the reason we will not see any changes. I thought the main reason for the limit was that the webmasters wanted to be as close to the original game as possible. Otherwise, it would open a Pandora's Box as far as what all to include among modifications.
I think the fuel issue has been up for discussion before and had always been (pardon the pun) shot down. If equalizing the fuel is desirable, I'd only want to see it in a "Fantasy Setup" type game where you can set up custom scenarios with equal planes types and quantities on each side of the dogfight. The game creator would establish a Type A plane, setting it's tail, wings, engine, fuselage, fuel, guns, and quantity on each side. Perhaps multiple Types could be generated, but equal sides at all times (otherwise, what is the point of fuel equalization if not to equalize the sides?). It is but a pipe dream and largely unneeded as the game excels as it is. |
