In some scenarios, it would not matter much. However, less fuel has been traded for better maneuvers in such planes as the Fokker DVII, to cite one example.
Anyone expected this to be an exact reflection of historical accuracy, needs to be reminded this is a beer and pretzels, hexagon wargame.

Most of the times I've flown the D7 I seem to be up against a Snipe. In the original edition these shared the same manouver card, but I think the snipe had almost twice the fuel.
I'm not after realism here, just an "option" so we can try a 'tweak'. It's not adding so much complexity that it moves it out of the "beer and pretzel" category. Arguably it only makes the game simpler.
