As to why 15k was chosen. Two reasons. My grandfather flew in WWI.
Which plane did he ever used? Does he havae any comments on the plane he is flying? Did u fly on the real WWI plane too  Just curiosity.
He flew the SPAD XIII. And while I'm old, I'm not that old. I would love to have a chance to fly any one of the reproductions with an original engine in it. My warbird flying has been limited to WWII fighters, most notably a Mustang, T-bolt, Warhawk and Lightning in my much younger and healthier days. Due to heart disease my piloting days are over since I can't get a medical certificate but i still dream and still have memories.
