When I was designing BM I had just gotten over the more is better mind set. I loved most of the aerial games of the time and was really looking forward to Air War 77 by SPI. Then I got a copy of it. Then I decided that less was more because when I boiled Air War down to simplify it I got Foxbat and Phantom, the earlier SPI attempt at aerial wargaming. Frank's insistence that BM be kept a simple as possible helped to, and I've been a proponent of KISS ever since. Complication doesn't add realism, only complication.
