Hey Odeiiii,
interesting thread.
It happened to me, too, a while ago. While I am not too furious if a beginner surrenders without knowing better,it really gets me when an experienced player does that.
There is not much you can do but avoid that player in future. You can open games and put "not XYZ" in the description. Worked for me. Also, I am not afraid to post the name of that sucker in the forum so everyone knows what they are dealing with. Keep it fact only, though, no insults. Also, you can write "only players who play until one ship is sunk" in your scenario description. That hopefully makes a point.
After all, you have to suck it up, though. Just keep in mind that most of the players here are fun to deal with. There is the occasional black sheep, but you will learn to avoid them.
I have no idea how that bug came into being in the first place. It seems to be so simple... but I am not a programmer, so I don't know how much trouble it would be to fix it.
I do surrender when the game is lost and my enemy leads in points. I don't like auto moving and I don't like waiting until my ships are all finished off.
Meet you at the battle seas, KL
Karllagov,
Thank you very much for the suggestions about how to avoid playing with early surrenderers. I had already seen in some open games the description "only players who play until one ship is sunk", but writing the names of the banned players too seems simple, clear and effective. Also interesting is the idea of posting in the forum the names of known early surrenderers without any depicting comment, just to inform the community about their style of play and avoid misunderstandings and incompatibilities. Have it ever been done before? Is there any thread that lists them? It could be useful also for them, in order to find players of their same game philosophy and play with them without provoking any anger reaction in players that didn't know it.
