It would require quite a bit of coding to do this and it would probably work better if players could create and fly different pilots, each with their own level of experience and skills. It would also be better if you could combine this with the ability to create campaigns to participate in with such pilots.
Another BM website around for a brief time had implemented these points as well as a few other nifty features such as game replay you could play thru step by step to review the action.
So, it is doable, it's just a question of time and energy to do it.
