While I don't mind faster running games/leagues myself, as I usually play everyday regardless, a fair number of folk here don't like such short spans and a weekly time out limit seems to be the happy medium for the majority of people.

Personally, I hate small maps, even for 1 vs 1 games, and I rarely sign up for anything smaller than 12x10. Likewise, I like larger number of planes in a match and, aside from a few 1 vs 1 matches/leagues, rarely play less than 7 players scenarios.

The bottom line being, post scenarios/leagues you like and hope you get enough other interested folks to join in.

If you never post games yourself, you have no one to blame for not having ones you like available

Although my game load has gone done over the years, I still have around 50 games usually in both BM, WSIM, and WSIM beta. Obviously there are enough game types that I like. Playing regular leagues are very different from Squadron leagues/campaigns or other player organized competitions. Unlike other players I don't get too attached to the league games so once they get moving I'll just make my moves whenever I need to move them. I am online everyday anyway. Less moves needed means more time to do other things.

Here is the brief history:
1)In the old Squadron Campaign days of over 6 yrs ago, map size used were 10x8 I believe and scenarios are mostly the "boring" category. I caught the tail end of that era and only managed to get into couple series before the organizers disappeared.
2) After those period ended there were another era of competitions (some were team/squadron bases) where someone created web pages to track the progress. Map size were 10x8 as well and usually involve no more than 3 on each side.
3) After that came Kit (GraysGhost) squadron campaign. Slow play creeps in and people lost interest. Kit's campaign was based on different war periods hence people cannot just go on to next set of games without the first sets being done so experience/casualties can be calculated. It was not easy to have games finished follow by waiting period of 4 weeks. And we have to hunt people down again. Attendance were bad enough for Kit's campaign that anonymous clones had to be used, something that was not necessary in the old days.

The only games that I created these days are over in WSIM beta. For BM and regular WSIM, I join whatever games I like that in the pending list. As for leagues I don't usually join that early as I try hard to avoid unknown new players who have a great tendency to become automovers especially if they join way too many leagues. Many of them don't realize 5 leagues of the larger types will mean over 100 games. There were mechanisms in the old Nick days to prevent that but I think they stopped working sometime ago.
