I honestly don't understand the youplayers point of view in this thread. Pretty immature, I will avoid to add other comments. And I hope they bought a Blue Max copy.
I can get mr. Hall point of view, which thought the guy from Hexcell disattended his negative answer, even if it was a misundersanding. But mr. Hall couldn't know, since his reply was clear.
Blue Max on Hexcell was AWESOME. The map configuration was excellent to create fast and short games, which somehow was an objective of designers at least in the start. The planes layout was beautiful, the campaign was at an excellent stage and it could go even deeper. Of course nobody should use a game which is copyrighted if not authorized. Which is not the case since the guy thought he was. He removed that immediatly once notified.
Now, to all the tongues blabling randomly and praising mr. Hall for no good reason (unless to show they are good to blabling), I hope you had the chance if not to play Blue Max on Hexcell, at least to read the blog and to get how much effort and love for the game was put in creating that project. And the results.
You praise mr. Hall for he have won what you think was a battle in your childish fantasies. You should go and pat the shoulder of that guy too.
I really would like to know how many people playing Blue Max here and supporting mr. Hall and Blue Max with their posts effectively supported them even getting an original copy, spending money on it.
Not that this would allow them to spit venom on Hexcell. Shame on you, get some mature attitude, hopefully you'll get at least this from mr. Hall since you can't wait to show him how you are good to praise.
And to Hexcell designer: I'm very sorry for the fate of your work, hopefully you'll have a chance to publish Blue Max under right circumstances. If not, cheers anyway, that was awesome and ispirational, same of early youplay.
Everything you say is correct zif. The Hexcell Games version of BlueMax was better. He had innovative ideas that made the game more attractive and exciting. He was nice to the players and actually listened to the their concerns. Not so at this site. The Youplay.it people got scared and cried to Phil. Youplay.it people make to many enemies to fast on this site. It will come back to bite them. Hexcell Games BlueMax was gaining traction with gamers. How do we even know the posts are from the real Phil Hall and not a schill to protect Youplay.its interest? I don't wish you any ill will Mr. Hall but if you are as sick as you claim I wouldn't want my legacy to be a petty squabble forever imprinted in an online forum before I depart. My suggestion is to change the online version and make it better or risk the chance that someone else will.
