I think this is a cheap, cowardly way of playing. I can tolerate fleeing off of the edge of the board to avoid being shot down but there was NO REASON for retiring in this situation. (ANGRY) Natador I have a couple reasons for not playing 1-on-1 games but this one of them. It can often come down to playing for points instead of playing your opponent. Some players look for seams in the rules to win while some just want to compete. Yes, we have to use some sort of scoring in this game but I prefer to play against my opponents, trying to shoot them down and survive than trying to outscore them or rack up stats. I play more for fun and an easy diversion than some wins no one cares about but me. I'm with you, my friend. My "stats" don't look so good, because I play almost NO 1 on 1 games. I play in multiplayer games, which are hard to "win". Plus, I play mainly league games, so it is more important that my TEAM wins...if my wingman "wins" the game, I could not care less, as long as I get the points for being on the winning side.
If I get my engine shot out, I will NOT retire off the side of the board. I will hope to limp back to my side of the board and retire honoroubly. If I get shot down, then it's -1. What's the big deal? It's only a game. I play the game for FUN. Of course it's more fun when I win, but if I lose, so what? I'd rather lose with "honour" than win with disgrace...
Just my opinion... |
