1. They keep their stats 2. They only give 4 points rather than 5 in a league
Now feelings do run high on this and there have been a few suggestions:
1. Pilots dive away from the playing area and so live to fight another day. We don't have three dimensions so the only way for them to do this is to go off the edge. 2. Pilots from this era would know when their planes were falling apart and would save themselves to fight again another day.
Now I have relaxed my high dudgeon down to moderate dudgeon as I feel that if a pilot makes it off their side of the map - fair play - he's run away and gone home. However I don't feel that anyone who ever does this should get a win or a point. In leagues it should be recorded as a 5-1 victory.
Yes there are times that your rudder gets jammed but hey if that happens your plane is damaged beyond repair and you lose.
For those people who fly off the sides willingly - yes they're cowards and I have no time for them at all.
When all is said and done it is a game, and everyone likes to know that they are fighting on a fair and even playing field. If someone does this to you - avoid them. If you see them in a league don't join it. Sometimes they join a league that you have already joined - but always believe that they will follow these tactics and play accordingly.
And yes I have a list of people that I tend to avoid because I don't like the way they play - it makes my experience that much more enjoyable.
Of course you could just point and laugh at them - that works for me too |
