thanks for your response. As I am chinese it would be also convenient if I could use chinese character. However, not all machine could display non-ascii character, see the swedish alphabet appears on my screen is �, �, �.
From a system development point of view the userId is unique/ indexable and easy identifiable. Making it a non ascii / utf 8 or some other format, will require some work.
From a user point of view, I would like to feedback in userid, if the id is some strange character, that would make the experience quite odd.

I did not know it was an issue with the program, there is no need to do lots of work to change it.
