| Message text Well I have taken the time to assess some of the proposed greetings as to their appropriateness.
Yo, as proposed by LiteHoof could be construed as being a slur to Afro Americans or Italian Americans as a more ethnocentric greeting, which should probably not be used by non members of those particular ethnic groups. So that one is out.
Hello or Hi as proposed by Docmortand is risky. Hello has a reference to Hell and could be misunderstood by our Christian members. Hi, could easily be mistaken as a derogatory description of the mental states of our drug using members. So those are out.
Moonglum's proposal is just too offensive for words.
Imdog's suggestion is both sexist and ecologically hostile, so the less said about it the better. Its out too.
Jack Aubrey's suggestion of Up Yours seems reasonable. A kind wish for success as in Up Your Side. Its good Jack, so far the best of the lot. I say we consider that one. |
