Message text What a tempest in a teapot this is. Coming from an American, "Hi yourself" is an innocuous return to a polite greeting. Given the context, there is no reason to suppose or impugn anything else. To imdog, despite the comments of your English pilot, "long time no see" is a completely acceptable greeting to someone in America. In American usage it would not necessarily mean "I miss you", but rather something like "I haven’t seen you for a notable amount of time, and I am pleased to meet you again". There is nothing politically incorrect about it (in America). |
