How about looking at the indicator that is already on the page? You know, the little green boxes?

Fair point well made - but like anything you see all the time (but just in different quantities) it gets less noticable with familiarity

I'm not saying that little green boxes are not enough for skilled players - but I think there are other players like myself who don't have the self discipline to check the fuel boxes every turn. And that when I do remember I sometimes get surprised by my opponent running out of fuel - when they would otherwise be shooting me down. SO I don't think I'm the only player who could be reminded to check their fuel if it gets below an arbitrary level (I picked 10 as that gets you home or most of the way home most of the time).

Edward

You're asking for a crutch to make you a better pilot when the reality is it will make you a worse pilot. You'll never get the hang of gauging your fuel if you don't get more mindful of it.

I also disagree that it would improve the game.
I was waiting for King-snake to jump on that 1 & I have to agree w/TX as well.
I will say however; Kudos to you Edward for a constant stream of thoughtful & sometimes inspired input. I was told long ago that 1 of the things the web-masters appreciate most is constructive/positive forum input/activity, & that my friend you have done in spades, both courteously & eloquently. So don't let us Hard-line old timers discourage you, keep it coming.

But a fuel gauge? Nahh, for all intents & purposes you have 1, & like TX kind of said: -'Deal with it'- It'll put some extra leather on your neck in the long run.

I'll let the fuel gauge drop not a problem.
As for hard line old timers I've got plenty of leather on the back of my neck and you're all friendly anyway underneath that grizzled exterior.

Edward

Believe me when I say, there are a number of those "hard line old timers" out there who are keeping track of your fuel at their end.
I've had it done to me. I'm just too lazy to do it to the enemy and there is usually enough of them that it's not worth the effort. I just assume somebody's got more fuel than I do all the time!
