How about looking at the indicator that is already on the page? You know, the little green boxes?
Fair point well made - but like anything you see all the time (but just in different quantities) it gets less noticable with familiarity
I'm not saying that little green boxes are not enough for skilled players - but I think there are other players like myself who don't have the self discipline to check the fuel boxes every turn. And that when I do remember I sometimes get surprised by my opponent running out of fuel - when they would otherwise be shooting me down. SO I don't think I'm the only player who could be reminded to check their fuel if it gets below an arbitrary level (I picked 10 as that gets you home or most of the way home most of the time).

You're asking for a crutch to make you a better pilot when the reality is it will make you a worse pilot. You'll never get the hang of gauging your fuel if you don't get more mindful of it.
I also disagree that it would improve the game.
