Games created for the league have the exact same rules of the normal games. The only difference is that at the end of a league's game, a league score is calculated and used to rank the players in the league.
One side completely destroy the other and remain the only side on the map. Among the winning side the player who scored more points is declared the winner player.
This clearly states that the winner of the game is calculated using the League Rules and as such the player on the winning side with the most points wins the game.
I really am dreadfully sorry for not understanding that this actually has a different meaning.
That the winner of the game is the player with the most points.
The winner of the league is the player from the winning side with the most points.
You can see how close the meaning is between the rules as printed and what they are being used to mean. You can see why it is so easy to misunderstand them.
No, I understand where the confusion came from but I feel pokerguy had already explained how it worked pretty well. I'm glad things are cleared up for you now - hopefully your brother has a clearer picture as well.
Before nitpicking the verbiage used, bear in mind that the site's owners and programmers, as far as I know, are Italian and have been kind enough to provide this site in English for us to enjoy. You point to the second sentence of your quote Among the winning side the player who scored more points is declared the winner player. as to why you thought it was the most points from the winning side that was deemed the Game Winner, but that ignores the first sentence of your quote Games created for the league have the exact same rules of the normal games. The only difference is that at the end of a league's game, a league score is calculated and used to rank the players in the league. which would contradict it. If the Game Winner was decided by something other than most points by an individual, that would be a significant change from the normal rules. By observing the results of the programming, you can see what was meant by the rules posted. I figure that the programmers know what results they are looking for better than how to articulate that desire in a second language.
It may not be ideal, but it works and lets me enjoy the games. |
