And all that said, I can' remember the last time I emailed someone (or received one) outside of the Trident Cup tournament, where it was specifically allowed. As Ogrebait pointed out, the practical limitations often make it useless -- like the person may move before reading the email or whatever. And not everyone's profile is set to allow emails. So I doubt it even happens all that often. Most of the time it's easier to just say it in the in-game comments, but even then a lot of players, especially newbies, don't read those every turn.

The card system sounds fun. It would be nice if we could do something like that here.
