| Message text Well, sure. We can talk about anything you like, especially since it seems impossible to maintain a serious discussion of something that is neither moot nor self-evident.
And I understand psychology (I happen to work in it), but I also understand that I have a lot of games with 4 or 5 1s out of ten die rolls (I am in 3 right now).
I can promise you-- very psychologically-- that if I get 4 or 5 6s out of 10 die rolls, I will most certainly remember that!
It is not happening-- at least not to me.
Someone else mentioned constantly getting 6s on the long, unimportant shot and 1s when it's up close and critical. I know that feeling too-- and maybe it's psychological and maybe it is not.
Maybe imdog is on to something-- it is entirely possible to have the overall "average" work out to even numbers, while cells within the total have variences. Like, someone else is getting the 5s and 6s that I'm not getting. I'm not personally paranoid-- I don't think anyone with the system singled me out and said, "give kduke 48% 1s." But I do wonder if, for any reason, I'm part of a "lucky group."
I know what bad luck feels like. I also know what good luck feels like. In a single game, it's luck. Over a week, that feels like a curse or a charmed life. Over the course of months... that's something else.
Rather than talk about spinabros or lillo and their clones, I'm going to start tracking my game results. If it's not enough showing you one or two games with 40% 1s or higher, maybe seeing 20 of them will be more convincing. |
