Greetings earthlings,
I have to admit that there is a certain tactic that really depletes my goat herd - that's people flying off the edge of the playing area during a league match.
I've just had a word with BMBug and he's spitting feathers about a player who did that to him this afternoon.
I think that the rules should be changed for leagues when someone does this.

Goat herd and brother to a pillow muncher My point is in the "other thoughts".
This discussion, where some people declares to "have been insulted" amused me a lot, and I explain you why.
I'm just back from England, where, in my usual trip to the Air Tattoo I had the chance to buy the book "READ EAGLES - America's secret MiGs". In the introduction it talks of a F-14 Tomcat pilot, to be exact the first pilot to go straight to the Tomcat from flight school. More exactly it talks of his last mission in his "TOPGUN" course. In that mission he was directed to meet one from the Aggressor's squadrons. He headed in head a look at it and found himself saying: "Bloody hell, it's a MiG-17". In so saying he started turning to follow the more agile plane. His second thought was: "Bloody hell, he got my tail and shoot me down". At that point the instructor flying the MiG-17 contacted him, established the rules for the second engagement and they started it. When he was almost arrived to gain the tail of his opponent he was informed that they had reached the established limits and he had to end the engagement. He went home having learned to survive the his first encounter with a MiG and to be fast enough to shoot it down within the fuel limits. It never passed through his mind that his opponent/instructor had established the limits in such a way to force him loosing.
At present I'm running a 8 leagues long with capitan baxeico, Cattivonci, eugenioi, Fineturno, Gabriel Guerin, Galinette, IronEagle, John_Clark, lepres, Luftwaffe, matteo, Peruzzimax, sbadranga, SIGAROSO, tezu82 and me. A couple of times it has happened that someone, not to loose a point, escaped without honor. Nobody minded at it since we were all running on the long term.
From my point of view, this is what has happened in this case. BMBug has not fast enough to shoot down his opponent and his opponent escaped. Personally I don't mind to such a thing since I think that to gain a kill I must be fast enough not allowing my opponent to flee.
My two cents. |
