Ad-absurdum proof by induction.
List all sequences of numbers from the lowest one to the biggest one.
11111111111111111111 is clearly anomalous.
So is 11111111111111111112, and 11111111111111111113 for analogous reasons.
Now, take the lowest non-anomalous sequence of 20 numbers between 1 and 6, and call it Z. Clearly, the probability for Z to be generated is exceedingly low and, therefore, it would be highly anomalous if it were ever generated in a game.
"Look! We generated the lowest non-anomalous sequence!! That is weird!!! The Rand() function must be broken!!!". Therefore, even Z is anomalous.
QED.
It is easy to generalise this theorem to: "all sequences of numbers are anomalous".

I think most people would consider the 100% instant kill rate (now 15 for 15) to be a remarkable coincidence, but if you want to argue that it is expected behavior, be my guest. |
