Getting back to the thread of my original post - how many of you have played a game here on the computer where a PK/FTE has not appeared compared to the number played as a board game.
When there is a marked difference then there is something wrong.
If there is something wrong it needs to be fixed.
By reducing the probability of those chits appearing you have not removed the possibility of it happening, just brought the computer game into "reality" with the board game.
Something for the programmers to think about - even if without a change some of our games are spoilt by too many random events happening regularly.
What you might try is to look at your last 20 or 30 ended games and add up all the red hits to any plane and see how many FTE or PK chits were drawn and then see how far off it is to the expected results. Make sure you only use advanced rules games for your analysis.

OK I looked at my last 30 games and found that out of 159 red hits 14 were either PK or FTE. That is 8.8% of the time. If the programmers have 2 of the 18 possible red hits as PK or FTE the you would expect to see them 11.1% of the time. My games seem to be under the expected average recently although I think that most of those hits were against me instead of for me. |
