New releases are discussed from time to time and I was wondering what everyone's favorite war movie is. Focusing mainly on the 20th century I always enjoy "The Great Escape", "A Bridge Too Far", "Where eagles Dare".
I also enjoyed a fairly recent release called "Letters From Iwo Jima" which I thought was far better than "Flags of Our Fathers".
I really liked, and suggest everybody to see (in parentheses, Italian title):
-Stalag 17 -Twelve o'clock high (Cielo di fuoco) -Paths of glory (Orizzonti di gloria) -(Le quattro giornate di Napoli) -The dogs of war (I mastini della guerra) -The bridge on the river Kwai (Il ponte sul fiume Kwai)
I could name many other, but let me talk about two old movies that nobody mentioned as far as now:
-The four feathers (Le quattro piume) - 1939 version - avoid carefully the 2002 one -The charge of the light brigade (La carica dei 600)- 1936 version
