New releases are discussed from time to time and I was wondering what everyone's favorite war movie is. Focusing mainly on the 20th century I always enjoy "The Great Escape", "A Bridge Too Far", "Where eagles Dare".
I also enjoyed a fairly recent release called "Letters From Iwo Jima" which I thought was far better than "Flags of Our Fathers".
I like your post pokerguy. Letters and Flags telling two very different stories. I would expect split support depending on the viewer. Both stories were important and well done.
1) Platoon 2) Saving Private Ryan
Folks can complain about character behavior and historical accuracy etc. A film can still be a great war MOVIE anyway.
