Well, I am a newbie to this as well as the board game.

Managed to pick up a copy of the boardgame a couple of days ago in a second hand shop. then found this site thru Boardgame geek.

Its great.
I think I have played about 8-10 games. Managed to claw a narrow win in 2 of them.

The main thing to encourage newbies is to let them play I would say. and talk a bit to them.
Making people feel welcome is the main thing in any sort of community you try to build.
