I must play too many games. Would this to be to protect players who don't read the rules first, or so against other green players it might take them to learn in 100 games what they might learn in 16 games against decent players?
Typing it out, I guess the point would be the more even match up along the way?
What you suggest does make some sense, I just have no sympathy for board gamers who get beat. My own prejudice.

So that new players would get a better chance at a positive experience, how hard would it be to have all new players with less than 100 games, denoted in a different way. Perhaps listing them in another color such as Blue or Green, would make it easier for people to find players with the same beginning experience. Just an idea. It has to be frustrating to learn the hard way, and a little success can go a long way so far as enjoyment of the game.
