Well, this tournament system seems cool, most of all because it's easy, auto-managed, quick and based on random scenarios/planes.
My two eurocents on the rules ...
(1) A player retires with "honour" if at least one of the following applies:
less than 3 fuel
engine destroyed
no machineguns left
(2) A player retires with honour ONLY if he/she retires from the right side of the map
(3) If a player retires from the wrong side of the map shall be counted as shotdown.
(4) If a player retires from the right side of the map without the "honour" condition, he/she must be penalized for two reason:
avoid quick shotdowns and retirements
give reward to the enemies that were close to destroy the retired plane.
