So I want to know what the average score for each plane is (over all pilots) in this scenario (not all scenarios).
and this:
'how I've done compared to the average' for a pilot playing any plane in this scenario.
Then, I guess the simplest way would be to see the rank of your score and compare it to the rank attained by other people.
Example: In a certain Scenario X, you score 50 points in a Pfalz and your opponent scores 70 points in a Snipe.
We compare your 50 points with all the scores of all people picking your Pfalz in that scenario and we find out that, let's say, your 50 points is the 3rd best score ever. So you score rank is 3.
Then we compare the 70 points of the Snipe to all the scores attained by Snipe pilots in all games of that scenario, and we find out that 70 points is pretty common and it's actually just the 122th best score ever. So Snipe's score rank is 122.
Since you attained Rank 3 vs 122, we will say that you performed better.
Infact, your performance was almost better than all Pfalz before, while Snipe's one was common
I think it would be interesting to add this information somewhere, but I don't think I would attribute the "yellow box" win on that. According to the game rules, it's a Snipe victory
On the other hand, if you just want to find out how good you fly compared to other people, I think it would be interesting to introduce some kind of general "player rating" - like ELO ratings used in chess. Falconfab had actually suggested to introduce ELO on youplay a few months ago. ELO in itself would probably not work for our needs, but some other kind of rating system (XBOX Trueskill maybe?) might do and the "score rank comparison" might help to determine who is the winner of each game. |
