My only critique would be "faction loyalty".
As Templars pointed out early on (and many of us followed suit once we had our bearings on how things were being worked out) I would prefer to see less "trench-hopping". Would it be possible to commit (lock-in) a player I.D. to a particular side after his 1st plane selection, perhaps by posting a list?
I have trouble following the logic here. What's the benefit of having "phantom" accounts set up to play the opposite side of the campaign instead of allowing the same username to do it?
I'd rather see a limit to the number of pilots a player can use so as to make their lives that much more valuable. Even then, how do you prevent the "phantoms" from circumventing it?
I like being able to fly both sides and would be opposed to restrictions on that.
Restricting the number of pilots one could use would only punish those players who are the most active in the campaign, as those random one shot kills do add up rather quickly when you play a lot of games.
Thus, I'd prefer to leave things as is, as far as player participation options go.
OTOH, if we were to set up a squadron campaign, I'd have no problems with flying in the same squadron on the same side for the duration of the war as a more historical alternative to an open campaign. I think there'd perhaps be a fair number of logistical challenges to organizing and running such though.
