As for the new plane graphics, Canvas Eagle charts or Wings of War cards could provide some base on how to draw them, but it would indeed still need some skilled volunteer to do the graphics work.
You got one key point: who is the volunteer that does the graphics work?
Someone who play Canvas Eagles that uses those planes may have to grab the digital camera to take a top down picture of the models. Ideally they can do it over a piece of white paper to make them stand out. PhotoShop can help with the paint job variations.
May not be volunteering, but might be - not sure yet.
Provided I get the images, the background doesn't matter as I can remove it. Could even use drawn images or paintings rather than images of models.
As all planes used so far have a top-down view then obviously that is the one that would be needed for future aircraft.
What about Harry Tate?
For those of you who don't know, I'm a professional photographer and I provide graphic design services to my clients.
