For those who might be interested in, I want to notify that player gabriel1, YouPlay.it member for 6 years, with 210 games played and 100 victories, has retired from the game number 568120 ( http://www.youplay.it/play/ws_GameMove.asp?GameID=568120&UserID=Odeiiii ), which he was about to lose without any doubt, before any ship surrendered (actually just when one of his ships was about to). Acting so, and because of the surrender bug, he denied me the victory record: although I was the factual victor, in my statistics the game is regarded as non-victory because both players were tied in points (zero). By the way, I would appreciate very much any information about players with the same behavior (like dkalenda, 1-year membership, 1082 games played with 657 victories, in game number 524687 [ http://www.youplay.it/play/ws_GameMove.asp?GameID=524687&UserID=Odeiiii ]), in order to avoid playing games with no hope of victory. I hope this information will be useful for somebody. Regards, Odei

I agree, that behavior is not fair. I am surprised, it's those two players which I encountered plenty of times and never anything like that happened.
Happy for you. It's quite a frustrating experience.
If a game is lost, one should turn bow or stern of a ship toward the enemy, so it's being ended in a fair and pleasant manner.
That's exactly what I think.
Don't worry about personal statistics. Flawed and useless in WSIM.
I know victories and defeats in YouPlay.it are just symbolic as nothing is really won or lost, but anyway I think they should be recognized to who deserve them. Maybe I take the game a bit too serious, but that's how I see it.
I don't think there is a way to avoid it in the future.
After the game with dkalenda, I always follow the advice you gave me in the thread I opened to ask about the topic(http://www.youplay.it/play/forum_showmessage.asp?msgid=41222 ) and when I create a new game I specify in the description "Only for players that don't surrender unless they are losing (have less points)". Until now it has worked well, but it only can be used in created games, not in subscribed ones. In these the only solution would be just to ask for it to the opponent. I think I'll do so from now on.
This is causing trouble for a couple of years now and I don't understand why this bug isn't fixed yet.

Yes, it looks easy to fix it, but maybe it's more complex than it appears, who knows. Well, Nick knows.
