A better example would be a case where there are several contenders who played well and scored a good number of points. The fact that these players were effective isn't accounted for. It is 1st or Lost without any middle ground.
I just think it would provide a better measure of a players skill to know their contributions to fights beyond just winning or not winning. I agree. Perhaps the best way to incorporate such a statistic would be a simple count of number of players beaten in a game. You win a 12 player game, you've beaten 11. You win a 1v1, you've beaten 1. If you fly real well in a large game but get edged out by a point at the end, you have still beaten a handful of pilots.
This total could either be a running total like Kills, or it could be averaged like points. I'd prefer the former personally. |
