Only kills counted so I guess that has colored the way I play the online version. Poor sportsmanship? Maybe, but its the kills that makes it a fun game for me, not flying home with more points than my opponent.
Stats aren't everything. Fellowship and fair play make the game worth while. A good kill and the luck of the dice is always a plus. Don't get me wrong, I like the flaming plane wreck just like the rest of us. But, when you have the points, what really matters? Besides, I see the chivalry in escorting player off vs. a butcher kill. What did you prove? Especially when a player askes for mercy. (How can you ignore a request? If you too also need the Kill to prove a win, so be it...
Der_Kobra, Your a good player and I've always enjoyed our games. But like i tried to explain, in most games when I'm ahead in points I retreat to my side of the board toward the end of a game. I my opponent follows and runs out of fuel in an attempt to kill me on their last drops of fuel when they had a chance to leave then I do attempt to shot them down. Not to be mean but to leave a lesson. I would expect the same. |
