We just shot one down in the our first game. Could be good humor or his comments about our conduct were in real anger. I also have no guns but am still flying around taking the risk of being shot down too. Question is...should we allow such crippeled aircraft to retire...with honors (full pts.) or should he be forced to leave without honors (1/2 Pts.). These points could be very vital later incase of a tie etc...after writing this and thinking about the points it would seem to make sence to shoot him down.
your thoughts please
Since this is a tournament game and the rules have been set forth, if you wish to advance, you should look to shoot down defenseless planes gliding.
I have read and read about the whole "honor" debate regarding this little hexagon game. No one starts the game "defenseless" - if enemy fire has gotten you to a no engine status, well, don't let that happen next time.
The scoring is based on planes on the map first and foremost. After this, kills breaks the tie, and then after that, total points (assisted counts). Based on this, it would be better to try to hang around and not get shot down though gliding off the map, does not mean your squadron cannot still win. There are several strategies to choose from here and should be discussed within the framework of the rules and pilots in your squadron. |
