There was a version of BM set with WWII planes. Most of them flew like the spad XIII. Not as fun as these dog fighters. Although, the Me262 was fun just because it could cover 5 hexes.


Where is the trouble? This could be easily dealt with larger maps. And IMHO, certainly WWII planes aren't so much alike Spad XIIIs.

Just think about how a wide range of different features you could have with WWII planes:

  • biplanes vs. monoplanes (Fiat Cr32 and Cr42 vs. Polikarpov I-16; Malta Gladiators vs. Fiat G50)
  • MG vs. Cannons (Battle of Britain's Spits vs. Bf109s and Me110s)
  • dancers vs. runners (Zeros vs. Hellcats and Corsairs)
  • fighters vs. bombers
  • radial engines vs. inline engines
  • twin-engined fighters (two separate engine damage areas)

  • ...and parachutes!
