B17QOS is a solo game where the player controls a single plane. Lots of dice, few decisions.
Air Force had similar damage charts to BM, but flying was much more complicated, as was shooting. Dauntless was the Pacific variant.
I think GG really just wanted Blue Max for Spitfires. I'm not sure it would work because there is such a difference in plane performance. See also the recent thread (I think it started as critical hits) where Phil the Designer explains how unplayable the game gets with faster speeds.
But IF it were to happen, I'd play!

Air Force and Dauntless were great games, and I spent many hours playing them (remember Hans?) Avalon Hill republished the games a few years later and made the plane charts almost unreadable, but ever so much more colorful! |
