ASP = Active Server Page This is old school web application on Microsoft servers. Usually VB Script is used on the page itself. This is early 2000s stuff.
ASP.NET = This is modern and still evolving web applications using .NET framework in the background. More C# than VB.NET these days. Again you can only host it in Microsoft servers.
DBMS - Database management system. Once you involve database you are no longer dealing with normal web pages. YPI and other complex stuff are all web applications.
