You know, this prompts me to get off my joy stick and make the webmasters an offer. I am very thankful that the main language on the site is English and I understand that many people around the world use English as a second or "extra" language (I won't write an editorial about how weak Americans are in additional languages, but we are certainly fortunate.)
As good as the site is, I think it would benefit from some extra help from a "native English speaker." I work as a writer for a living and this is looking like a slow time of year for me. If you would like, I will start cruising the site in a proof-reading mode, reporting the minor errors that exist and some places where the phrasing is not quite right or could be clear.
In addition to being a writer, I also do a lot of rules proof/editing work for several game companies, and I could be doing this site proofing with that point of view as well.
I am slow to suggest making changes or improvements to the original Blue Max rules (and I am talking only of how they are written-- not how the game is played) but we might look at that later. For now the objective would be to just focus on the text of the site, in terms of how it explains itself and gives directions... all to be looked at with the "eyes" of someone who has never been on this site or even played Blue Max in person.
I'll leave the offer in the webmaster's hands and let them tell me the best way to handle this (if they want to do it at all).
And my compliments to the job that is already being done. Your English is far better than my Italian. Grazie molto |
