I certainly would not recommend anyone that does not already love the game, fork out 100 bucks for this special edition.
On the value of the game. There are VERY few 1 against the horde games out there. This is the best that I am aware of. It is certainly the equal of most of the games on this site, and easily up to Blue Max. It is limited by being a purely 2 player game. I also believe that the Ogre has the advantage with newer, or lesser skilled players, and that the defense has the advantage with good experienced players. Steve Jackson disagreed with me on that, but the defense won all three of the games we played, and without crazy dice to cause this outcome. A fine game now, and a brilliant game when first designed.
