| Message text Use the 'wind direction arrow' from WS&IM to indicate the location of the Sun - and then don't display any planes more than 3 hexes directly 'Up Sun' from the player's plane.
So that would allow further variation for all scenarios, Dawn, Morning, Noon , Evening, and Dusk versions'
the Germans in the East - so Sun from the right hand side of the board in the Dawn
the Allies in the West - so Sun from the left hand side of the board in the Dusk
With Noon the Sun would be at the top (south) of the board.
With Morning the Sun would be in the top right (south east) of the board
With afternoon/evening the Sun would be in the top left (south west) of the board
That then leaves me thinking about the relative length of a dogfight - I think it's all over pretty quickly so even for a 50/100 turn combat the sun should stay stationary
But if you wanted to - you could set a number of turns that counted as moving the Sun from one place to another around the board - but games that started with a setting sun would then need to 'end' when it got dark - so that would probably be a disadvantage for the allied planes.
