Hi BlueDragon,
Your statistic give me some interesting idea.
For 2 players game, normal Fuel(4.4 days) Twice the no. of fuel will prolong the period (5.1 days) but Fivefold it actually shorten it(3.7 days)!!
The same thing happened for 4 players gameļ¼ 13.8 : 22.3 : 18.1 (but the twice fuel and five fold games is not enough for concrete conclusion
Other data is not statistictically valid (sample size not exceed 36) for any conclusion yet.
Any explanation on this?

I have no explanation on that, we'd need to check those games with a deeper analysis. I think that while 51 games (for 2-player/Twice-fuel) or 184 games (2p/5f) looks like many games, it actually doesn't take much for a single individual to create and play dozens of 2 player games. So the fact that they are slower or faster, could be just the effect of a few individuals who play faster or slower than the average. In this aspect, it makes very much sense the suggestion of GraysGhost that we should look at game turns instead. Using game turns immediately eliminates the "I play slower/faster" variable, as opposed to using day duration and waiting for the "I play slower/faster" variable to be averaged out by collecting a lot more games. I'll try to extract the game turns info from the game files I have and check that too. |
