It is balanced all right but you will have a lot of draw games as well. Most experienced players will likely turn the French ship to run on a parallel course with a Forward-Forward-clockwise turn on the very first move. Then we will be off to long range shooting. The fact that neither ship can slide upwind is not helping either.
My suggestion: start the ships closer or the French further up. That way the Victory have a chance to cut under the French ship on the first move. |
