I have no problem pick sides and stick with it to the end. How are we going to control the random players who play a few games here and there?
Another variation I like to see involves the good old squadrons. Bluedragon will need to track squadron results as well as personal results. We can use the squadron from Lord_Laquax era or allow people to form up new teams just for the tournament. Obviously the old squadron etiquette should apply in the games. The difficult is how can we make sure certain sides will contain all the squadron members without using challenge games or password games.
I like this campaign as is for several reasons.
Flying for both sides is really no issue since he tracks them separately. Since you cannot fly against yourself you are two distinct pilots after all. I enjoy this aspect, being able to fly each sides planes and see how you do in each era.
I also like the aspect of being able to fly in multiple missions in each era giving a variety of planes and looks. I like to flight at a disadvantage as well as at an advantage.
Having some players come and go as well as only in a game or two is actually more realistic. This is not a league after all where we need to spread the match ups. I like this part as well.
This free form style also helps in that I don't have to be at the exact right place and right time to get into games as is the case with many campaign type tournaments. The flexibility this offers is something also very appealing to me.
Using the old squadrons is an issue in that not all pilots are participating. Forming new squadrons for another such campaign would be a GREAT idea though. Fly some games as squadrons and others as not in the same campaign, sometimes against other squadrons and sometimes not.
Great work Bluedragon! |
