Having got back to playing, I've noticed that the first time I try a long burst I jam. And I'm unable to unjam. In a current game it happened again. First long and I jammed, flying straight hasn't let me unjam. Is it a glitch or just me?
Phil,
I must say that I never use the long burst since I want to be able to shoot and not have to change my flight path to recover from a jamming.
As long as it regards the special damages, I must tell you that, during a 16 players tournament, in which each player had to play a total of 8 leagues, I counted the Pilot Killed and Fuel Explosions comparing to the red chits and I found no statical problem but the fact that the ones that statistically suffered more PK and PE where the ones that were winning since were receiving much less hits that the others, so the PK/PE that were received in the first turns, were not statistically balanced by games in which one received a lot of reds. That's what I've seen.
As long as it regards the D6 rolls on the Comodore 64, I tried the routine several times with a million of roll loop and, at the end, each number had been rolled for about 1/6 of the times with a difference of times in the range of the 1%. Each time the number that was rolled more was a different one, so the routine is ok. If you wan to try it, go to this page:

Besides that, as long as it regards the special damages, you should get one every third cheat, with the blue pilot killed that has been deleted
In otherwords: I believe the majority of us have found the jams to be somewhat less than realistic in regards to duration, but not entirely a re-occuring "end-all". Sounds to me like you may have had a rather bad streak of die rolls Phillip.
