I'm in a game where one of the other planes did at least three 30L2 moves consecutively. This took me quite by suprise.
From the linked BM rules I pulled this:
Restricted Maneuvers: Some maneuvers (numbers 27 to 36) may be chosen only if the previous turn's maneuver was simple, straight flight (maneuver number 2, 3, 4, or 5). You can repeat the same special maneuver more than once in a row as long as you repeat exactly the same maneuver and this is not a non-repeatable maneuver (see below). A valid sequence is 2S, 29S, 29S, 29S, while you cannot do 2S, 29S, 30R (different restricted) nor 2S, 31L, 31L (non-repeatable maneuver)
Non-repeatable Maneuvers: The maneuver codes of non-repeatable maneuvers are enclosed in brackets (numbers 1, 28, 31, and 36). A non-repeatable maneuver may not be chosen if the previous turn's maneuver was a non-repeatable maneuver.
The bold bit is not in the original edition.
Does anyone know if this is from a later edition?
Interesting enough, the How To Page has a completely different interpretation:
Restricted Maneuvers: Some maneuvers (numbers 27 to 36) may be chosen only if the previous turn's maneuver was simple, straight flight (maneuver number 2, 3, 4, 5). There is an exception: loops. If you select a 27 or 29 maneuver, you can repeat it as many times as you want.
Stalls: If you select one of the following moves, your plane will stall: 1S1, 1R1, 1L1. A stall may not be chosen if the previous turn's maneuver was a stall. You cannot stall twice in a row. Caution: being hit while stalling can be very harmful, please refer to the combat value table to see how much dangerous is can be.
Note, there appears no mention of "non-repeatable" manouvers or the square brakets. The interpretation therefore is that you can fly a 1 after a 28. And the repeated special moves are restrtricted to just the immelmann turns. But that is obviously not how it is working at the moment. The first extract seems to describe the site more accurately.
Funny how they decided to tweak this game between editions. This probably started out as a house rule and then someone thought it was worth a try and the next thing you know its in the next edition. (This sarcasm is from the beating I've been taking on the fuel thread.)
