There should be a penalty for quitting a game very early on. I would suggest that anyone who does so be considered "shot down".

This topic brings up again again and again for so many times in the forum. Seldom did I nor Nick will response to it as some time it is subject to individual. (e.g. http://youplay.it/play/forum_showmessage.asp?msgid=20005 or sometimes it is merely a discussion. (e.g. http://youplay.it/play/forum_showmessage.asp?msgid=14894
Basically there is two fundamental problem about players behaviour. 1. You don't know your opponent well. There is no control of user, in terms of level, play style, etc. 2. There is an system inefficency on some infavourable behaviour.
On pt 1., basically we have a discussion on it, the League system is tailor for it as it required higher commitment and activeness (at least 5 finished games ) before u join. Also we have pwd and challenge game. However for open games, it is very hard to control the quality.
I sometime do join Open game and they are really for leisure and meeting new pilots only. Don't take open games too serious.
On pt 2., during the most recent discussion on the game system and house rules. We all agree that the current system (follow the rules set by Phil Hall) should be follow because: a. The system is originally designed by him and he is kind enough to forgive any loyalty fee for us to replicate the system online. In return, we should keep the system as 'Original' as possible. b. You may say why not setting some house rules? 1. It is difficult to judge which house rules serve the best, we can't decide which is best. 2. It makes coding even more difficlut, so resulting more bug. 3. We have no time
Hope it can somehow solve your concern.
P.S. If u were me, will u quit in this situation, 1 vs 5 http://youplay.it/play/bm_GameMove.asp?GameID=345528
Enjoy the flying and fighting fun.
P.
On the bottom line, we come to youplay.it is just for fun.
