Isn't this a violation of Blue Max ettiquette as well? Don't most consider this cheating to an extent?
If I might clear this up a bit for you. We don't signal each other at all in Blue Max, though we go into battle with a plan, which sadly goes all to Hell as soon as the enemy begins to execute HIS plan. We do allow limited signaling in our home games, from a designated squadron leader. It is handled rather like tailing and involves some dice rolling to determine if the signal is seen and can be acted on.
We do occassionally signal each other in WSIM and such signals are always in open chat, for others to read and decipher if they can. I don't really think that this could be considered a violation of ettiquette as signaling between ships was an integral part of the execution of a battle plan.
