| | Message text I have similar thoughts on Warcraft. PvE is great 1-60 then turns into a new EQ. I raided nightly for 6 months through BWL and basically ended up with a second job that I wasn't getting paid for. That realization and the fact that I think my wife was going to attack me unless I stopped playing sealed the games fate.
World PvP was great when the game came out. It is a gaming experience I wont forget for a long time and that is rare. The honor system ( a PvP farming system), battlegrounds and the PvE itemization advantage just gutted PvP for non-raiders.
I recomend checking out Oblivion from Bethesda Studios if you havent. A SPRPG based on D&D mythology and rule-sets. Very large and beautiful world to explore, no grinding, and a pause button.
