It's really well planned, and.. open source I am having a lot of fun with it, i'll soon try to play it online, it should be easy http://www.wesnoth.org/Zif - the last time I listened to something you suggest - a whole bunch of us wasted months on Travian - - but I will take a look nonetheless. I was recently shanghaied into playing Travian, and am not very impressed with the game system. Since many of the game's players seem to be fanatics, what is it about the game that you didn’t like? The only fun I had was having your alliance (we had one called Blue Max), and helping defend or coordinate attacks. To be very good or do very well however, is to arrange your life to intercept troops at the exact minute, etc.. After a while, it became tedious. It rewards those who are willing to sit in front a screen 24/7 and the game just never ends.
Ok ... That sounds like what I am seeing. It also appears to have a rather sever pecking order, which is very difficult to break. Not to mention a combat system which, for a "wargame", has no relationship to anything historical or logical. |
